ManyChat's pricing page looks simple, but the bill depends on a number most sellers do not track: active contacts. Here is how the pricing works and what it means in rupees.
Prices below are from manychat.com/pricing as shown in October 2026, in US dollars, before tax. ManyChat says final prices depend on your billing country and are shown before payment. Always check the current page.
The plans
| Plan | Price (USD per month) | Active contacts included |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 25 |
| Essential | about $14 (annual) to $17 (monthly) | 250 |
| Pro | about $29 (annual) to $39 (monthly) | 2,500 |
| Business | about $69 (annual) | 7,500 |
| Advanced | about $139 (annual) | 25,000 |
Paid plans charge extra for each active contact over the included number. The free plan has no overage; it stops.
The free plan also allows up to 4 live triggers and adds "Powered by Manychat" to first messages.
What an "active contact" is
Broadly, a contact who interacted with your automations in the billing period. Every person who comments your keyword and gets a DM is a contact. So the number grows with your comments, not with your sales.
See ManyChat active contacts explained.
A worked example
A boutique posts four reels a month with "Comment PRICE". A normal month brings about 600 commenters. One reel goes viral and brings 3,000 more.
- Normal month: 600 contacts. Essential covers 250, so Pro (2,500) fits comfortably.
- Viral month: 3,600 contacts. That is 1,100 over Pro's 2,500, charged per contact on top of the plan, or a move to Business.
In rupees, the plan itself is roughly ₹2,500 to ₹3,300 a month at Pro, depending on billing cycle and the exchange rate, plus overage in a viral month, plus 18% GST and any card foreign transaction fee.
The viral month is exactly when the automation is most valuable. It is also when the bill jumps.
The hidden costs of paying in dollars
- Foreign transaction fees of a few percent on many Indian cards
- GST on imported digital services
- Exchange rate changes month to month
- Card failures on international recurring payments, which can pause your automations
When ManyChat is worth it
- You need its multi-step flow builder, multiple channels or AI features
- Your contact numbers are stable and fit a plan
- You have an agency or team that already knows it
When a flat rupee plan is better
- You mainly need comment-to-DM
- Your comment volume swings with viral reels
- You want to pay by UPI with a GST invoice
DM Flow's plans are flat monthly prices in rupees with a free plan; see pricing. Compare both on your real numbers, not on the headline price. Our per-contact vs flat pricing article shows how.
