Messages sent by a comment-to-DM tool are sent from your Instagram account, so they appear in your normal Instagram inbox, exactly like messages you type yourself.
Where to find them
- Instagram app: your DMs, under Primary or General.
- Meta Business Suite (desktop or app): the Inbox, if your account is connected there.
- Your automation tool: DM Flow shows each automated message in the activity log and saves each person in Contacts.
When people reply
When someone replies to the automated DM, the reply lands in your Instagram inbox. Answer it like any message, from the app or Business Suite.
Letting your team reply
- Give team members access through Meta Business Suite, so they can reply from the shared inbox without your password.
- Use Instagram's saved replies for common answers.
- Agree who checks the inbox and when, especially during a sale.
Keep the automation and the humans in sync
- Tell your team what the automation sends, so they do not repeat it.
- If someone asks a question the automation could answer, add a keyword or improve the message.
