For simple products, workshops and pre-orders, sending a payment link straight in the DM can shorten the path from comment to sale.
Which links work
- Payment page links from Razorpay, Instamojo, Cashfree or PayU
- Product checkout links from Shopify or Dukaan
- UPI payment pages generated by your payment provider
Raw upi:// links do not always open from Instagram. A hosted payment page that shows UPI, cards and net banking works on every phone.
Make buyers comfortable
People are rightly careful about payment links in DMs. Help them trust yours:
- Use your business name on the payment page.
- Send it only to people who asked (comment or reply).
- Say what they are paying for and the exact amount.
- Mention refunds or support.

When a product page is better
If people usually ask about sizes, colours or delivery first, send a product page instead. A payment link suits fixed-price items.

Frequently asked questions
Is it allowed to send payment links in Instagram DMs?
Yes, as a reply to people who asked. Do not send them to people who did not contact you.
Will Instagram flag a payment link?
Links from well-known payment providers on your own business name are unlikely to be a problem. Test from a second account.
Can I see who paid?
Your payment provider shows payments. Match them with your DM Flow contact list if you need to.
